About Us
The Academy's Role
Our role is to attract people into our Academy, assess their skills and potential and match them up to the specific needs and requirements of employers.
The candidates will be rated on our established Gold, Silver and Bronze Scale according to their readiness for work and their suitability to the jobs that are available.
Applicants who require more assistance and further training, before they re-enter the workplace, are referred on to agencies for specific training or to Telford and other Edinburgh Colleges.
The “Gold” candidates - those who are ready to work - complete a short employability refresher course in order to update their CV, assess what type of job they are most suited to and prepare them for an interview. At this stage, we can either refer the candidate to the employers to arrange an interview, or alternatively we will assemble a group of suitable candidates in our office at St. James Shopping to be interviewed at the employer’s convenience.
The Benefits
We work closely with individual employers so that we can understand their needs and meet their essential and preferred criteria as specified in their job descriptions - and all at no cost to the employer or to the client.
In this way, we cut down the time, effort and therefore expense, that is required to recruit the most suitable members of staff possible. We take each employer’s individual job descriptions and specific requirements and provide them with the most suitable candidates that match these preconditions.
